For years, nutrition has been something that I struggled with. I have yoyo'd with weight throughout my life and not until the past 2/3 years have I had any understanding of what makes up a good diet and the reasons why.
To be able to achieve your goal weight/body fat it is common knowledge that you will need a training plan and need to hit the gym 2/3 times per week. However, it is what you do OUTSIDE of the gym that makes the difference. Any decent trainer should not only give you his time and knowledge training you for an hour at a time- he should also offer his expertise when it comes to nutrition and set meal plans and food diaries. If he doesn't he's only after one thing- and it isn't you to hit your goals any time soon!
This is why I have enrolled myself on a nutrition course. In 2015 I will be putting my learning hat back on (which has been in storage since I graduated in 2012), and will be studying Advanced Sports and Exercise Nutritional Advisor professional diploma level 5.
This will not only give myself much needed knowledge to be able to formulate my own meal plans (which I do anyway with basic knowledge) It will also give me the opportunity to share my knowledge with you all.
I heard a quote recently that I thought I needed to share "you didn't put 20lbs on in a week, so don't expect to lose it that quickly".
Stick at your journey- you have made it almost 2 weeks into January! My gym is starting to quieten down from all those that haven't taken my earlier advice, don't let yours be the same. Strive to ensure YOU are that person that doesn't quit. We all know it will be worth it when the sun comes out and, in the eyes of all your friends and family, theye notice that it's more than layers of clothes that you have taken off!
Keep up the good work!
P.S. Here is a photo of a steak I cooked the other night. Cheap, healthy and delicious!
